Depends on: (1) what computer you would be using it with, and (2) your priorities. This is one of only a couple of 5k 27"-inch displays out there, so if your priority is the sharpest text possible, then it's extremely worth it. The webcam, excellent speakers, and 96W of device charging power are great bonuses. If, however, you are fine with 4K resolution or won't be using a recent Mac, then there are cheaper options you might be perfectly satisfied with.

Monitors for MAC have different color protocols, porting, connectivity and resolution possibilities than other non Mac CPU’s. User said he’s replacing his out of date iMac, but as newer iMacs are far different than those in its heyday which ended around 2017, it’s hard to tell. I’d add that just because one may be using their cpu for less intensive tasks, time spent staring at a monitor is just as important as if someone is using it for graphic design or for a music studio. If you’re trading stocks for 6 hours a day, you’re still staring at a screen for a long time, which can wear on your eyes, brain and body. There aren’t many 5k options for Mac outside of the studio display that run on Mac iOS/OS. Most are priced accordingly. If you’re fine with lower resolution and don’t care as much about color , porting , connectivity, there’s many a 27 inch screen that can be used with an hdmi port. I’d only warn that what you’ll see on a Mac with those options are different than what you’ll see on a PC, with the PC getting the advantage. HDMI on Macs are great for expanding a laptop to a TV to as a mirrored option, but not as great if it’s your main display.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you only use your computer for Internet purchases and emails, why not go with an IPad? That’s what I use all the time, I have a printer that works from the wi-fi so I can print from anywhere, and I can stick the tablet in my bag and carry it with me everywhere. I shopping for a desktop because I want to do a lot more graphic with graphics and Photoshop, but I’ve been an IPad user for ten+ years and just live them.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This was made for the Apple studio CPU. I would not buy this monitor simply for what you’re using it for unless you just want to be “extra” lol
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is simply a monitor, not a computer. Adding an extra scene to an older computer (of any kind) puts strain on the graphics card and processor, this will make your older Mac run slower bc it is working harder to support two screens now. For similar money you can get the newer Mac with smaller screen size and transfer all data to it. Making a newer faster machine, and retiring the older one.
