• Yes. I use an additional cable to connect to newest model MacBook Air. One end connects to the Super Drive USB connector and other end fits into USB-c connector on computer. Cable available at Best Buy

• No, but the cable that is built in is short so I would have a hub near by or a usb 2 cable extension with one female end and the other male.
