“I have a IMAC 27" desk 2010 with internal dvd disc player that won;t except a disc anymore. will this external drive be compatable”

As it is an iMAC and made by Apple, yes, you will just need an open USB A port.

I would think so, but you should ask at your local Best Buy. I HAD a 2010 and just bought a 2018 IMAC 27". It connects to my new Mac perfectly, no extra cables needed and it said it was MAC compatible on the box. Good luck!

No. It only works if the Apple computer never had an internal disc drive.
