“I need an external drive that I can attach either too my iMac desktop or my mac laptop. Sometime I need to look at cd's with X-rays, etc on them. Will this work for what I need? My laptop I bought in 2015 I think And my iMac desktop is about two years”

Yes, you can It’s very simple just plug it in and follow the screen instructions
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sure will, but something to look into is some older Macs and iMacs will require you to purchase an adapter to plug into it (19.00). My Mac is a little over a year old and the plug that came with it worked fine. As far as the Superdrive, it's a nice unit. I've downloaded pics from a wedding off a friends cd and burned them back onto my own cd, then just deleted them from my computer.
