“I just bought a new iMac with the M4 chip. I have a brother laser ;printer- HL-L2320D which I was able to use with a 4 year old macbook pro, but when I attach the printer to the new iMac vioa an adapter port it will not work. Will this adapter work?”

It should work. I have an even older setup that works on my M4 Mac mini with this adapter. I connect my older PS/2 keyboard to a Belkin PS/2 to USB adapter, which I then connect to this Apple USB-C to USB adapter and macOS recognized right away that a new keyboard was connected and prompted with the usual instructions to identiy the keyboard type.
