Does your smart phone need to be close to the watch. null

It doesn't need to be super close, I can leave my phone in an upstairs bedroom and go two floors down to the basement (home is 2000 sqft for reference) and it still works just fine.

Depends one which one you get the gps does but the cellular doesn’t ,they charge you 10 a mo though

It just needs to be in the house unless you pay for cell service and use the watch while leaving the phone home
