• No you can add the carrier later but just to make sure you get everything that’s compatible with your carrier I would add while purchasing the watch so there is t any chance that it is not compatible if add the carrier the your cell phone doesn’t need to be with you to receive calls and text emails so if you forget your cell phone at home and you have your watch it’s just like your=phone so that’s a major pluss
