A:Answer There are 2 versions of the watch, one with cellular capabilities that requires an active cell service/plan to use the watch as a phone to make and receive calls with or without your phone nearby. The one without cellular service is less expensive and doesn't work as a phone unless your phone is nearby. I'm not sure, but it may work as a phone if connected to WiFi as well.
