• Yes this watch keeps track of your steps as long as you have your phone with you. If you want the watch for this feature I would go for series 2 or 3 since Both of those have built-in GPS so you do not need to carry the phone with you.Also all series come with both cellular and non-cellular usually the non-cellular is about $100 less
