Yes — you absolutely can buy a GPS + Cellular smartwatch now and use it without activating the cellular service plan until later. If you don’t add the cellular plan immediately, the watch will simply work like a GPS (non-cellular) model when paired with your phone. I added the plan immediately for $10 but for me it’s so worth it. I left my phone home once and was able to get all my texts and calls on the watch.
