If you want to use your watch INDEPENDENTLY from your phone, you must purchase the Apple3 Cellular capability watch. The store will set up your cellular watch; they will contact AT & T who will activate the additional service for your new device. Very important, during installation (pairing the watch with the Watch App on your Iphone) you must be sure to go to the CELLULAR option on the App and TURN IT ON.. In order to do that you must have your AT& T User Name and Password to enter. (If you don't have this, very simple, go to AT&T website for how to create your username and password) Once you have entered that data on your Iphone Watch App, cellular service will automatically be activated on your watch. You will be able to make and to receive calls without the presence of your phone, i.e. when your phone is out of range or turned off.It also works with your phone when it's in range. For complete info, go to the Apple Website and ask your questions. Great website. Very simple. Very clear. I love my Apple3 Cellular Watch. It's amazing. Hope this has been helpful.
