• The watch should connect to your iPhone, and a separate plan is not needed. I got my watch to go with my new iPhone 12 so I don't know if a new watch will pair with an older iPhone. I suspect it will but don't have any experience with that.

• No cellular plan is required for the WiFi only version as it uses your IPhones existing cellular plan once paired
