• if u get the GPS only u cannot use cellular, if u get the cellular version yes u can activate later but check with your cellular provider first, if they allow wearable devices on their end.

• If you purchase the GPS and cellular version, you do not have to activate the cellular part ever if you don’t want to if you buy it unlocked. If you purchase it on a payment plan from a carrier, they will require you to activate the cellular part (and pay for it - usually about $10 per month).
