AppleCare gets activated at the register when you purchase your Apple device and you chose to buy AppleCare.

Upon receiving the item and keep your receipt proof of purchase register the warranty online. Make sure it’s completed fully.

If you bought it with your Apple product, it automatically activate your protection, you should get an email advising you of the activation. You can check your Apple account to see the AppleCare+ plan information or I recommend downloading the Apple Support app, here you can see all your Apple products and their AppleCare+ coverage, expiration, etc.

You have to call apple or talk best buy

When buying through Bestbuy with headphones it is automatically linked to the serial number and activated.
