Help, I've tried two cables and the camera goes off line without the battery installed. Is there a camera setting that will solve the problem?

You can use the power cable with or without battery. I use mines without battery. I use the extra battery for my other arlo pro 3 camera that is to far from outlet but easily accessible

No, you dont have to...... thats why its called a "magnetic" connector. The outside of the camera case has a magnetic terminal that attracts the magnet on the cable. This is a "charging" cable...... you plug it in, charge the battery and then remove the cable until the camera needs charging again.

No. I have two charging cables on two of my four Arlo Pro 3s. I did not remove the batteries. I have not tried to use the camera without a battery in the camera.
