The camera can be used indoor or outdoor, however the cable that comes with may not be long enough to connect your camera that will be placed indoor. Arlo does not recommend modifying or using an alternative cable as this could result in damage to the camera and/or solar panel and void the warranty. At this time, there is no available longer cable for the solar panel. Also, we recommended to use only the cable included with the device. ^RM
