Yes, you will need a drill and bit. Systems come with necessary anchors and screws.

Yes you can however make sure you are aware that it has a subscription if you want it to record and also the battery runs down even with the solar panel unless you have it wired directly. I personally don’t recommend the Essential. Better go with the Arlo 2 or Arlo 2 Pro.
