No. It will work with the following Arlo gateways: VMB4000 VMB4500 VMB4540 VMB5000. If you don’t have one of these gateways, you can connect directly to your Wi-Fi router. (See the Arlo website – Arlo.com.)

Arlo Essential Spotlight camera is not compatible with VMB3000 base station as explained here : https://kb.arlo.com/000062284/. However, you may sync this camera directly to your router's wifi network. Using an Arlo base station/SmartHub is optional for this camera model. ^RM
