• The camera can detect motion between 5-20 ft. away within its field of view. You may adjust the camera's sensitivity level to make it more or less sensitive by following the steps here : https://kb.arlo.com/41/. ^RM

• I have not tested with a measuring tape, but would estimate approximately 20 feet at a minimum. I found the coverage area to be as advertised, i.e., 160 degrees.
