I use a router connected to my main via a ethernet connection to extend my wifi range. The further away from your signal source, the greater the lag and connection. Which will also affect recording quality, clarity and connection speed. I have found that connecting my ethernet capable devices to my own hub's via ethernet, has sped up our home wifi service and improved our video and gaming experiences since those connected to ethernet work faster and have so much less pixelation.
