Does motion detection work through a window? The VueZone system does not, so I thought I would ask about the Arlo system.

No, the motion detection does not work through a window, and because the infrared lights reflect off of the glass it does not allow you to operate the camera at Night while trying to use it through a window. All you see is a reflection of the infrared light on the camera and it makes it useless if you try to use it through a window

Depends mostly on the back light of the window, how clean it is, and the angle at which the camera faces the glass in the window.
With adjusting these three I had great success using through a window

When I tried this the motion sensor did not work through glass. I had to place the Arlo camera outside.

the camera detects motion based on the sensitivity you set.

if there's a clear view through the window and the camera setting is high enough, then it will detect the motion outside the window

Yes but you have to angle it for it to work at night
