Hi Dave, What Comcast told you is correct. This is an older model that does not support the Gig speed service tiers. If you require a modem that has digital voice ports, the T25 will support up to 1 Gbps. If you do not require digital voice, the S33 cable modem and the G36 Wi-Fi cable modem are capable of 1.2 Gbps.
