• Once you have more than one device that needs the internet, you will need to provide additional means to connect those devices - either a router or a multi port switch. A modem only provides a single point of access to the internet. Unfortunately, mich more complicated than the days of wired telephones where you can split a signal with an adaptor...

• This is just a basic cable modem which will provide single output Ethernet port. Router is needed for wifi capabilities to connect your phone and computer/ laptop over wireless access to internet.

• This unit is only a modem. If you require a wireless network, you will also need a wireless router.
