Yes you do need a router for this modem. The best one I would recommend is the NETGEAR N900 Dual band wireless router with 5 port gigabit Ethernet Switch. It's super great with multiple devices connected to it. I have an Apple TV 2 computers, 2 tablets, ps4 and 4 phones connected to the router at all times and my internet speed is never affected not is the strength of the Internet decreased. This modem along with the router named above are a great pair. Both help increase the signal strength of your internet.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It works fine with Comcast, fine for gaming and videos, and fine with multiple users. There's typically two 'human' users at once, as well as multiple machines hooked up all at the same time with no issues. You will need a separate router if you wish to hook up more than one device to the cable modem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It performs extremely well, specially if your service is 30 MB or more. In my home I have 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, 2 Chromecasts, 2 AppleTV, 1 Desktop Computer and an Xbox One sometimes all connected at the same time and it works very well, but again that has a lot to do with the package I got from Time Warner which is 30MB. And yes, you will need a router to send the WiFi signal in your home.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want to be able to use Wi-Fi, you will need to get a separate router. I don't know about Comcast, but on Time Warner's 20 Mbps package, with 2 laptops and a minimum of 2 phones on Wi-Fi, (more if we have friends over) and an XBox 360, Xbox One, PS3, and Wii U all connected through Ethernet, we never have a problem. Usually it gives us much faster speeds than what we pay for too, around 24-25 Mbps. As far as the streaming part, have never experienced a problem either on chromecast, smart phones, or the video game consoles.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The modem is good and can handle up to 100Mbits/s. Depends on what service plan you have and depends on what router you have. I use time warner cable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We are able to stream to at least two tv's and use the internet at the same time. The most important things to consider are the speed of your service from Comcast and the ability of your router. In order to run more than one device from the modem you must have a router. If you are going to have a lot of people using the internet at the same time do not skimp on the quality of the router. We only have internet tv as we have given up on cable so we rely heavily on this modem and have never had a problem. That said, if you do purchase this modem make sure to get the extended warranty. I believe that it's only $10 and will be worth its weight in gold should the modem start acting up.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Have had for about a month now. No issues with multiple users. I paired it with a TP link wifi router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have 2 gamers as well as 1 to 2 people watching movies or streaming music almost all of the time and have never had an issue with this modem. you will need a router if using more than 1 computer.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.More than one person working on it works fine. Often we are two computers and streaming. Yes, you will need a router. Especially for any wifi capabilities. but I don't recommend the modem router in one options. Price is good but performance can be iffy.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had no problem with 5 users at the same time. A router is required downstream of the modem, not included with this product. No experience with Comcast, you'll have to contact them
