I have Time Warner cable and it works perfect for me, but I would suggest you go to http://www.timewarnercable.com/en/support/internet/topics/lease-or-buy-modem.html to see what is compatible with Cox internet which is the same Time Warner cable.

I found that the Arris Surfboard Modem is compatible with Cox Internet.
