• Perhaps I do not understand your question, but this modem uses an Ethernet cable, not a coax cable.

• This is a cable modem, and uses coaxial cable to connect to the Internet. If you don't use a coaxial cable, this the wrong modem for you.

• the arris modem I bought in Aug 2016 has in the box the cable to connect the modem to the Ethernet card in back of my pc. Easy to connect. Modem works flawlessly

• This is a cable modem, as such it uses a coaxial connection. You are probably using a different type of service such as DSL, which would require a DSL modem. I'd talk to your ISP about what kind of modem is compatible.

• If it does not have a coaxial connection on it then your old modem is probably a DSL. You cannot use a cable modem for DSL. Who provides your service now?

• You can purchase an Ethernet over Coax (EoC) Adapter which converts the Ethernet data signal / frequency to Coax. Schematic of the converter required: Female Ethernet port --> Conversion Box --> Male Coax (See picture for reference) Good luck.

• This unit is only for cable. They have other ones that work with different connections. Just go to your nearest Best Buy and ask someone. I'm sure you'll get help.

• Then you are probably getting a fiber optic line or DSL. Check that with your provider and find the modem accordingly.
