This modem is a cable modem and as such, has one input (coaxial cable) and one WAN (Ethernet) jack. If you want WiFi, yes you will need to purchase a wireless router and connect the WAN port from the modem to the WAN port on the router. You will need to configure the router with SSID and passphrase. Disable WPS (It's not secure). If all of your connections are going to be Ethernet (wired) and you have more than one, then I'd look into buying a small switch or hub. Much depends on what you intend on doing. For apartment or small homes and WiFi applications, you may want to look into a "gateway" (combination of modem and WiFi router). Lots of options.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.YES you will need a wireless router too. I like to keep my modem seperate from my wireless router so if one break down I don't need to buy both just one that broke.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you want to send a signal out wirelessly or connect more than one computer you need to buy a router as well, but if you only have one computer and it is near where this comes into your house then you don't have to have a router as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You need a router in addition to the cable modem. Grace and Peace, JRMx
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You will need to buy a router. I would recommend the NetGear.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you're going to use multiple computers or need Wi-Fi, then you also need a router. If you only have one computer, or don't need Wi-Fi, then you'd hook up this directly to it and there would be no need for a router. The router just gives you the option of adding multiple computers (and Wi-Fi, printers, etc) to use instead of having a separate modem for each.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you will need to purchase a router too. I suggest taking a look at the ASUS RT-AC1900P. I own it an am very happy with it’s performance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a stand alone modem only. You will need to purchase a router only.. there is one eithernet out on the back that plugs into router. It's an excellent modem though. It runs a bit hot so ypu will need to give it space arpund it to vent, but my modem runs flawless. I have Comcast 150mb service, and it gies me an extra 30 mb speed for free and runs at 180 mbs. I also get an extra 1 mb upload speed! Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This modem does not have an internal router. You could connect one wired device and only one device without a router, but most people need a router as well as a modem. Personally I prefer to have separate devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can use the modem with one PC - if you want to use multiple devices on the internet you will need a router.
