Hello Bronson! The ASTRO Gaming HDMI Adapter for the PS5 is a cost-friendly solution that was designed to fit most home setups at the launch of next-gen systems. The Adapter is HDMI 2.0b certified and both the adapter and included HDMI cable are capable of up to 14.4 Gbit/s data throughput. Now it will work with the Series X at 1440p / 144 Hz, but like you mentioned, without VRR enabled. To enable VRR, it would require an adapter that's certified 2.1. Those adapters are usually a bit more costly, but there should be some out there from other brands if that's what you are looking for to work with your type of setup. All the details about the HDMI Adapter frame rates and resolutions compatibility can be found here: https://blog.astrogaming.com/2020/12/astro-hdmi-adapter-frame-rates-and-resolutions/
