No. You need to download the Logitech app on your phone though.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It doesn’t require you to have the software to use it, no. I will say that it definitely does help out the sound quality and I think the Atmos license in the app was only about $12 which wasn’t terrible. It’s not required though!
