Q: QuestionIf I have a PCIE 3.0 instead of a 4.0 how will my speeds differ?
Asked by Great.
- A:Answer I was told 5-10% loss, I had a 4070 S on my 10600k(z490) and it ran fine. Smoked my 3060 ti. I was going to upgrade CPU first, but after researching everything, decided to do GPU then whatever CPU I can grab when a sale hits. I hope this helps.

Q: QuestionDoes the type PCI Express slot matter on the speeds?
Asked by Chris.
- A:Answer I think the question should be: "What generation of PCIe does this card support?" Given its age (released in 2017), I doubt this card is anything more than a PCIe Gen2 (at most a Gen3) card. NOTE: Gen2 is "enough" to support a 10GbE NIC (@ 4Gb/lane * 4 = 16Gb) It would certainly be nice if ASUS and other manufacturers stated what the card actually supports (requires) on the PCIe side. It's inaccurate (at best) to state that PCIe Gen4 offers any performance benefit at all. Just my opinion of course...based in math though it is: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
