Contrary to ASUS support, the UEFI BIOS is *not* locked, and you can run whatever OS is capable of running on the hardware. ASUS has info on their website for entering the BIOS and booting from USB. Do a search for "asus e203ma How to enter BIOS configuration?" You'll need to turn off secure boot and fast boot and also allow booting from USB devices. There are some youtube videos that ASUS has put out for doing this, but we can't post links in the comments. You'll probably find more info in the related videos from that search. FYI, Linuxmint 19.1 runs quite nicely on the E203.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. Ubuntu 18.04.2 works flawlessly on this laptop, and runs much faster than Windows 10. After you make an Ubuntu installer on a USB drive, you'll have to enable booting from USB in the bios. Ubuntu will boot from the USB drive and then give you the option to install. After installing Ubuntu, everything just worked. I've loaded a ton of additional software on top of the initial installation and have not run into any problems yet. Keep in mind, this is not a gaming laptop or a high-end workstation, but for the price, it's quite nice.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the ASUS TP202NA-EH012T. I was unable to put Ubuntu 20.04 on it when I bought it around around 2020 but succeeded in installing Bodhi Linux 6.1.0. The latest on Canonical Launchpad is that kernel 5.3.0-23-generic works on this laptop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Linux was not certified and qualified to run on the laptop.
