“I purchased this laptop several months ago, and it charged to 100 percent. All of a sudden it only charges to 79 percent no matter how long I keep it plugged in. Does anyone know why? And how can I get it to charge to 100 percent again?”

Your laptop might be set to Balanced mode in the ASUS Battery Health Charging software, which limits the charge to 80%. You can change it to full capacity mode for it to charge to 100%, please see more here about battery charging issues: https://www.asus.com/us/support/FAQ/1012793/
