• I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 - 2007 vintage (with 15" widescreen), has a VGA port, so does this monitor. So yes, my prehistoric Dell laptop can be used with this modern monitor. If an 8+ year old Dell can work with it, than I'm sure pretty much any newer Dell could also be used with it. Don't know anything about Apple computers, sorry.

• This model unit has D-Sub, DVI-D port. It does not have HDMI port.

• depends on the output on the laptop, but yes for most laptops

• I haven't tried that, but if you have the correct cables, I don't see why it wouldn't. It's a nice monitor at a good price.

• Yes, this product can connect to a laptop via HDMI cable.
