This monitor has built-in speakers so you can connect one end of the audio cable to the audio-in port on the monitor and the other end should be connected to the audio-out port of your sound card on your computer.

You can hook it up to the green outlet on the back and connect the other end to the headphones jack of your laptop or even your iPod, and use your monitor as a speaker. The black input in front of the green one is where you would hook headphones, but you won't hear anything if the green cable isn't connected to an audio device. I might have reversed the colors, but I'm positive the green cable goes to the green jack (it fits into either one and you can use it in either). Experiment and you'll eventually get something!
