“Is the text on the screen noticeably smaller than tiext would be on a lower resolution monitor? I am near-sighted and am looking for a larger monitor to use with my laptop so I can see better. Thanks.”

Not sure how it works with laptop as second display. However, in win 10 the icons and text can be enlarged. Not all apps however use these enlarged fonts, eg Quicken.
