Yes, but you have to download and apply the latest firmware from ASUS, and after apply a hardware reset to both routers

Yes. I purchased two of them and following the instructions the setup was pretty straightforward. They are linked and the transition from one to the other is seamless.

It does. In fact, it annoyingly reminds you in the app to connect it to another router. I only had one of the Asus routers so I am not sure how it would work well with others. I am returning my Blue Cave because of abysmal 2.4GHZ performance.
