Will this unit work with any laptop? null

As long as your have the correct USB connecting port, it will work on any Windows laptop or Macbook. Will mostly likely work on a Linux OS with the right driver. But I have not tried that.

That's my understanding. I'm using with a PC running windows 10. I'm certainly not the best source for answers about computers tho. Good luck
