I can't say for sure that the RAM cannot be upgraded but the C434TA is not built for easy user expansion/upgrades if it is possible at all. As for the storage, the C434 has a mini SD card slot/reader that can be used for additional storage via SD cards. I purchased a 128 gb SD card and it works fine with this Chromebook.
