Both models of the Asus Wireless-N USB 2.0 network adapters (USB-N10 and USB-N13) are compatible with Windows XP. And the USB ports on your Dimension 4500s are USB 2.0 ports. So this solution should work for you. My only piece of advice is to ensure that your Windows XP is completely patched (with all the latest service packs and patches) prior to installing this.
