This ASUS monitor, in its lowest position, is slightly less than 1 inch above the table.

Just pushed my ASUS monitor down to the lowest position. Measures 1 1/2 inches above desktop Hope that helps.

Yes, the monitors lowest point is less than 1.5 inches. You should have plenty of room.
