Not the technical answer you're looking for, but... It fits all of the off-the-shelf cans I have at home, includinding two over-the-ear Sonys, a Sennheiser over-the-ear, Panasonic ear buds, and Apple earbuds. Unless you're dealing with professional equipment, I don't think you'll encounter any problems.
