That means that you can set up 3 different WIFI networks with each of the three bands, and assign each its own SSID or network name. This allows you to keep certain devices in certain networks. For example, one for gaming, one for work, and one for older devices that use 2.4 only. The separation is good for not overloading one single SSID with too many devices. All three of the networks communicate with each other regardless of the separate SSID's. I hope that explains it for you.
