Can not be wall mount if that's what you mean. There is no hole for you to mount it unless you are thinking about just placing it on a high place like a shelf. As far as the speed and the range it should not matter where you place it as long as your house does not have a lot of magnetic field that will block your signal which is really rare. Might cause heating of the router if you do place it in or on a tight spot with no air flow. Hope this helps, its a good investment boost my connection by a lot.
