My laptop does not have backlight bleed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, the scren issue was not fixed. Both of the strix i got last week were returned. They both have the same issue with major backlight beed. I went with alienware instead.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was also worried about the backlight issue as well. So much that I was considering paying more to order the same G18 through a PC builder just to have them pick the best screen with lowest backligh issue. I ended up buying the one from BB and I am oretty happy with it. ZERO backlight issue for me. I saved alot going that route and buying my own SSD and Ram to upgrade vs the builder (about $500-700)

This DOES have an IPS screen so expect some IPS glow (which many mistake for bleed) but my screen has minimal backlight bleed with just a tiny bit at the top right. Other than that the display is absolutely gorgeous. Usually, backlight bleed has less to do with the screen it's self and more to do with how it was installed. Replacing or reinstalling a laptop screen is ridiculously easy so if you are unsatisfied maybe give that a go, or just return it. Mine is fine though. Asus really does need to get it together with their QC because the number of issue units I see is nuts.
