As far as I know, AMD has already updated their bios on AM4 socket Motherboards. This means are able to run the 3rd generation Ryzen Processors on this motherboard. This includes the 3600x. Also saw a lot of stores selling this motherboard with the Ryzen 3600x as a bundle so that should mean they are compatible. ASUS's websites also states the socket is for 3rd, 2nd, and 1st generation AM4 processors. Check their website link: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B450-F-GAMING/specifications/
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No way to make sure. I couldn't get to POST with the ryzen 3 3200G. I think the AMD boot kit should help update BIOS. I was on the phone with Asus support for one hour and they wanted me to ship it for "repairs."
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.got mine in may works fine. no bios update
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For anyone reading currently since this is an old question, it does come updated! My Ryzen 5 3400G works spectacularly with it right out of the box, getting things to POST was a breeze. I'd say a good way to know for sure is if it has an orange box on the bottom of the top of the box that says "Ryzen 3000 series compatible" or something of the like.
I would recommend:
