Great economic ROG motherboard
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed.I purchased this mobo at best buy retail store. I like that Best Buy had it in stock as it was just what I was looking for. The Asus boards are my preferred brand because I have always found them to be of high quality. I also like that it has usb-c so I can connect newer devices. I has connections for the ROG leds and Aura sinc can be used to control them. Asus also has other utilities downloadable for it. The board also supports AMD Ryzen™ 2nd Generation/ Ryzen™ 1st Generation Processors and 2 slots for M.2 Socket 3, with M key, type 2242/2260/2280 storage devices, and multiple other features.

Bought as a temp, going to be used in a new build
||Posted .Bought it to temporarily replace my MSI MPG X570 Gaming Edge Wifi. With a Ryzen 5 3600, I got a stable 4.3 Ghz OC out of it, which is what I had my other board OCd to. RAM was overclocked to just under 3200 Mhz with Corsair Vengeance 3k Mhz (I believe it only listed 3193, or something close to that). The only thing that I wasn't happy about was the lack of 5V RGB connections, which half of my lights in my build are 5V, the rest are 12V, but I knew that going into the purchase. The board is capable of everything I threw at it, and trust me, I tossed everything at it that I could. It's going to be used in a new gaming build soon, just getting parts together now.

Wonderful experience - ASUS for the win!
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed.ASUS ALL THE WAY. I purchased this at my local BestBuy for two reasons. 1-They were the same price in store as online, and 2-Buy local, stay local. I loved having the ability to go to a BIG box store, like BestBuy, and gazing upon all the computer components they have in the store, and they have roughly the cheapest prices around. I did have ONE issue with this motherboard. Upon installing RAM, CPU & cooler, and m.2 NVMe SSD, I installed it into the case (Corsair 100r), I booted to BIOS with no issues. I stepped away for 5 minutes and the computer shut down. When I pressed the power button, it practically blinked, all the fans turned on, and then immediately turned off. After 1.5-2 hours of diagnostics, I've come to the conclusion that the Mobo was shot. EVEN though the ROG IO RGB was illuminating and working. I checked every component starting with the CPU, and RAM only, still got the issue. The funny thing is I have 3 LED indicator lights for diagnostics, none of them showed errors. Spoke with ASUS customer support at 8 p.m. on a Monday night, and got a person on the phone at 8:05 p.m. I told him all that I have done and he said that unfortunately those were the procedures he recommends doing before filing a warranty. He then gave me a case number and told me to take it back to BestBuy and get it exchanged. So, I ended up boxing both the PSU and the Mobo up and I took them back to my local BestBuy (after they got a new one in stock (5 business days)). I even made sure to pack all the SATA and power cables, and made thepackages all nice and neat and BestBuy employees didn't LOOK INSIDE. Oh well, they exchanged them, and as soon as I got home, I bench built the Mobo back again on its box, starting with CPU and RAM, and EVERYTHING WORKS! So far, 2 weeks in, everything works great! Excellent Asus Board
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed.Replaced a 12yr old motherboard. Had all the features I was looking for. Running Ryzen 2700, G. Skill 16gb DDR4 memory at 3200mhz and Nvidia 1070gtx. No issues with BIOS. RGB logo is pretty good. Used more for productivity then gaming. But no problems running COD modern warfare on high settings. Will be able to still upgrade in the future as needed. Excellent upgrade!!!

Good board
||Posted .I'll start by saying that this mobo looks great aesthetically. You may need to purchase an internal USB hub for your entire build and it is important to know that this motherboard does not support addressable rgb. It has two 4 pin 12v headers and lacks the 3 pin 5v headers for addressable rgb. The vrm temps are also not great but this board should be fine for the average consumer.

Solid Board, good value for price.
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed.Giving this 5 stars because its a solid board. Plenty of upgradability for a low price. My only complaint was that the ram slots are close to the cpu slot, so my NZXT Z73 (water cooling AIO) could not have the cpu block with the tubes oriented to the right side with all 4 memory sticks installed, so I just rotated the tube side to the bottom.

Perfect Motherboard
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This MB is not only beautiful but also has everything you need. It has 2 M.2 spots, 4 RAM slots, plenty of USB for VR, and runs everything amazingly. The BIOS system is easy to use as well for tuning and tweaking performance.

Q: QuestionAny way to know for sure if this board has the latest BIOS to be compatible with a 3rd Gen Ryzen 5 3600x? I'm reading that it may need a BIOS flash to do so.
Asked by TimS.
- A:Answer As far as I know, AMD has already updated their bios on AM4 socket Motherboards. This means are able to run the 3rd generation Ryzen Processors on this motherboard. This includes the 3600x. Also saw a lot of stores selling this motherboard with the Ryzen 3600x as a bundle so that should mean they are compatible. ASUS's websites also states the socket is for 3rd, 2nd, and 1st generation AM4 processors. Check their website link: https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-B450-F-GAMING/specifications/

Q: QuestionI am new to PCs and this will be part of my first build, I noticed in the compatibility section it listed ethernet but not Wifi, should I be concerned since I cannot get an ethernet connection?
Asked by Jay.
- A:Answer No need for concern, all you need is a usb WiFi dongle which can be bough on amazon for less than 20$. If you want faster speed though, BestBuy sells NetGear dongles, which are arguably the top brand. With the 24/7 support and decent software UI, NetGear has a higher price. Also remember to buy a Ryzen series chip made by AMD for this board. I use this board with a 7 2700x and a gtx 1060 gpu. I get at least 100 fps in all games at medium to high settings. Q: QuestionIs this compatible with the Ryzen 5 3600 and 1660 S? Just curious.
Asked by Hovvy.
- A:Answer Yeah. It'll work with both. But if the Mobo has been sitting on a shelf for more than 7 months, the bios is not updated to run the 3600. You'll have to flash the bios. But if you're buying it at Best buy, they should be able to flash the most recent bios for you. Just ask them. Mine that I bought a month ago had the very first bios update compatible with the 3600 from July of last year. But I'm in a fairly large city. If you're in the middle of no where Iowa it might have been on the shelf for a while. The 1660 will need updates Nvidia drivers once the system is up and running but that's easy enough to do with the Nvidia software on their website.
