“Is the Corsair RM750 power supply compatible with this? I am wondering only because the 8 pin cpu connector does not seem to match up with the 8 pin from the power supply. And if it’s not compatible, what psu would be?”

The RM750 is an ATX PSU, so it should be compatible. I'm sure you've checked, but be sure you didn't mix up a VGA graphics card cable with the CPU cable. They look similar, but are not interchangeable. I personally use the EVGA 1000 watt Supernova G3. It (and its family) are compatible and EVGA does a good job of labeling their connectors for ease of installation. Any of the EVGA PSU's in the 750 watt range would be a good option.
