“In the box in which my motherboard came in says Ryzen 3000 series ready and Ryzen 2000 ready. Does that mean I still have to update my BIOS for the 3000 series? I’m getting a Ryzen 7 3700x this Tuesday can i just swap out my 2600 for the 3700x.”

As long as the box says 3000 series ready, You should be able to plug in your 3700x right away. The Bios version that allows 3000 should always allow downgrading to 2000 series if needed. I built a system about two months ago and dropped my 3000 series in right away. Hope this helps!
