• You can use 3.0 hard drives. It also has a slot for the 5th gen m.2 hard drives which are not out yet as of me answering this question, but can use an m.4 4th gen in that slot. More info on Asus' website

• You can use your current M.2 3.0 x 4 SSD you have. That is the nice thing; the 4.0 x 4 SSD specification is backwards compatible.
