In a word, yes. In more words ... The good news is you get 16 GB RAM, and it's dual channel so you get whatever speed advantage comes with dual channel. Also, counter to one commenter who lamented that it did not come with DDR5 but rather DDR4, I claim no bid deal, the speed advantage of DDR5 is overrated, and in any event, when this laptop was designed DDR5 was hard to find and virtually no designs from that era had DDR5, they were all DDR4 (or DDR3 in rare older cases). The bad news is that 8 GB is soldered in and 8 GB is in the single RAM slot. If you're happy with 16, no biggie. If you swap out the 8 GB SODIMM for a 16GB you get 24 GB but now channel-size is a mismatch so you lose dual-channel advantage, I believe. Same way if you swap 8 GB for a 32 GB, which may be possible in this model, not sure, I know it's possible in the newer 2022 models.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you upgrade the 8gb slot to a 16gb ram equalling 24gb total, you still get advantage of dual channel while your laptop uses up to 16gb of ram, after that, the remaining 8 that you use won't be with dual channel.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it comes with 16 gb of ram but it is not the new faster DDR5 ram and if you just want a laptop with 16 gb of ram, there are much cheaper options.
